Top Jedi Survivors of Order 66 Ranked
This month celebrates the 20th anniversary of the release of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, marking the end of the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy. Released on May 19, 2005, it was the last Star Wars film directed by George Lucas before he sold Lucasfilm to Disney in 2012.
Anticipation was high for Revenge of the Sith as fans awaited the pivotal moment of Anakin Skywalker's transformation into Darth Vader. A key plot element introduced was Order 66, Emperor Palpatine's sinister command that turned the Clone Troopers against the Jedi, leading to the near annihilation of the Jedi Order. Given the thousands of Jedi in service, it was expected that some would escape Palpatine’s purge, and indeed, several have been depicted in canon as survivors.
In this article, we rank the top 10 Jedi who survived Order 66 and made significant impacts in the Star Wars universe. These survivors range from those who lived just a bit longer to those who played crucial roles far into the timeline, with some fates still shrouded in mystery. All of them, however, managed to defy Palpatine’s order and live to fight another day.
To qualify for this list, characters needed to have been part of the Jedi Order prior to Order 66, regardless of their final rank—from Padawan to Jedi Master, or even young Initiates. This excludes Force-users like Maul or Palpatine, as well as those like Jod Na Nawood who, despite receiving some Jedi training, were never officially part of the Order.
A special mention goes to Asajj Ventress, who was trained by Jedi Ky Narec on Rattatak. Although she never visited Coruscant or interacted with the Jedi Council, and later turned to the Dark Side under Dooku, her unique journey makes her an honorable mention rather than a confirmed entry on our list.
