Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege Expansion Coming with Heaps of New Content
Ubisoft's Rainbow Six Siege X: A Major Update, Not a New Game
Ubisoft recently unveiled Rainbow Six Siege X, not as a new game, but as a significant upgrade to the existing Rainbow Six Siege. Announced on February 17, 2025, and celebrating the game's upcoming 10th anniversary, Siege X promises substantial gameplay enhancements and refinements.
March 2025 Showcase:
A dedicated showcase is planned for March 13, 2025, at 10:00 am PDT / 1:00 pm EDT in Atlanta, Georgia. This event will offer an in-depth look at the changes coming with Siege X, including "new ways to play, deepened tactical gameplay, refined game feel, and major upgrades." Limited in-person tickets (USD $10, including a shirt and in-game cosmetic pack) are available to legal residents of the USA and Canada aged 18 and over with unbanned Rainbow Six Siege accounts. A VIP giveaway, including travel and accommodation, is also running for two lucky fans.
Pre-Siege X Updates:
Before the full Siege X rollout, several additions are launching with Season 1 of Year 10, "Operation Prep Phase," on March 4, 2025:
- New Operator: Aurora, with deployable bulletproof doors.
- New Elite Skin: For operator Aruni.
- New Reputation System: Rewarding positive and penalizing negative player behavior.
Rainbow Six Siege's Continued Legacy:
Initially released in December 2015, Rainbow Six Siege has enjoyed a long run across multiple platforms (PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S). Ubisoft's commitment to continuous updates has solidified its position as a leading live-service shooter. Siege X aims to further extend this longevity.
The timing suggests the major Siege X upgrades will be implemented after the Season 10 launch. The March showcase promises to reveal all the details.
