Exciting news for fans of video game adaptations! Sydney Sweeney, known for her role in *Madame Web*, is set to star in the upcoming film adaptation of Hazelight's hit game, *Split Fiction*. The project, which is being spearheaded by Story Kitchen—the same team behind the successful Sonic films—is beginning to take shape. Acclaimed director Jon M. Chu, best known for *Wicked*, will helm the film, while the script comes from the dynamic duo of Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who penned *Deadpool & Wolverine*. With this talented lineup, Story Kitchen is now shopping the project to Hollywood studios, anticipating a competitive bidding war.

The casting of Sydney Sweeney in *Split Fiction* raises the intriguing question of which sister she will portray: Zoe or Mio. According to Variety, this decision has yet to be finalized. *Split Fiction*, which launched in March, has already proven to be a massive success for Hazelight and its designer Josef Fares, selling over 2 million copies in just a week. The game has also been selected as a launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2.

IGN's review of *Split Fiction* awarded it a 9/10, praising it as "an expertly crafted co-op adventure that pinballs from one genre extreme to another, *Split Fiction* is a rollercoaster of constantly refreshed gameplay ideas and styles – and one that’s very hard to walk away from."

Hazelight's success doesn't stop with *Split Fiction*. Another of their games, *It Takes Two*, which has sold 23 million copies, is also slated for a film adaptation, with rumors swirling that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson might star in it. While there's always a chance these projects might not come to fruition, the current trend of successful video game adaptations suggests Hollywood is eager to make them work.

Story Kitchen is no stranger to video game adaptations, having previously announced a film for Square Enix's *Just Cause* with *Blue Beetle* director Ángel Manuel Soto at the helm. They're also working on adaptations of *Dredge: The Movie*, *Kingmakers*, *Sleeping Dogs*, and even a live-action Toys 'R' Us movie. Meanwhile, Hazelight continues to innovate, already teasing their next game project.
