Switch 2 Rumors Suggest a \"Summer of Switch 2\" Next Year
Recent reports indicate a potential April 2025 launch for Nintendo's Switch 2, while Nintendo maintains its focus on the current Switch model's sales as it nears the end of its lifespan.
Next Year Could Bring a "Summer of Switch 2"
Developers Eyeing an April/May 2025 Launch
According to GamesIndustry.biz, citing developer sources, the Switch 2's release is unlikely before April 2025. Developers have reportedly been advised to not expect a launch within the current fiscal year (ending March 2025). Many hope for an April or May launch, aiming for an early, not late, release next year.
This timing might be a strategic move to avoid competing with other major releases, such as the anticipated "GTA 6," rumored for a Fall 2025 release.
Further fueling speculation, journalist Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe, on the O X do Controle podcast, suggests a pre-August announcement from Nintendo, as reported by BGR. This aligns with Nintendo's stated intention to announce the Switch 2 before the end of its current fiscal year (March 31, 2025). However, these remain unconfirmed due to Nintendo's official silence. Nintendo has confirmed an announcement within the current fiscal year.
