Star Wars: Hunters Announces Shutdown Even Before Turning One!
The announcement of the shutdown of *Star Wars: Hunters* before it even completes a year is a bitter pill to swallow for fans. Yet, the game will still get to celebrate its one-year anniversary before the final curtain falls. The question remains: Is it worth celebrating the anniversary of a game that's on its last legs?
When Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown?
The servers of *Star Wars: Hunters* are scheduled to go offline on October 1st, 2025, marking the end of the game's journey after only nine months since its launch. Players have been given a grace period to wrap up Season 5, which concludes on April 15th.Zynga, the game's developer and publisher, is set to release a final content update on the same day, April 15th. This update will introduce the last new Support Hunter, Tuya, available for free. Additionally, in-game purchases will be disabled starting on this date.
The Ranked Mode will remain active until the servers shut down, and events from the season will be replayed. Players with unspent Crystals should use them before the end, as no refunds will be issued.
It Isn’t Shocking
While it's disheartening, the shutdown of *Star Wars: Hunters* doesn't come as a surprise. The game faced numerous hurdles from the get-go. Initially announced in 2020, it experienced multiple delays and limited beta tests, confined only to the SEA and ANZAC regions. The combination of a delayed launch, absence of major console support, and a tepid reception set the stage for the game's eventual shutdown. Moreover, the design choice to focus on generic original characters instead of leveraging the iconic figures from the Star Wars universe might have been a missed opportunity.
If you've uninstalled the game but are considering one final playthrough, Star Wars: Hunters remains available for download on the Google Play Store until the shutdown date.
