Star Wars: Hunters, Zynga's innovative foray into the Star Wars universe, is set to close its doors just over a year after its initial launch on iOS and Android platforms. Launched in June 2024, the game quickly captured attention with its unique blend of game show flair and fresh interpretations of iconic Star Wars characters.

However, it has been confirmed that Star Wars: Hunters will officially shut down on October 1st of this year. Before its closure, a final content update is scheduled to be released on April 15th. In response to the upcoming shutdown, Zynga has announced that players can now request refunds for any in-game currency they've purchased. Additionally, certain seasonal events will be rerun as part of an extended third season.

Fans eager to experience the last hunter, Tuya, will have the opportunity to play with this character in multiplayer mode. Tuya will be introduced in the final content update and will be available to all players at no cost from the start.

The End of the Journey

The news of Star Wars: Hunters' closure came as a surprise to many, as there were no prior indications of the game's underperformance. Given Zynga's robust standing in the gaming industry, it's evident that the decision to shutter the game was influenced by factors beyond simple performance metrics.

It's possible that the game's genre—a pseudo-hero shooter—may have been too saturated, and the target audience for such a high-energy, multiplayer mobile experience might not align well with the increasingly older demographic of Star Wars fans.

For those who haven't yet experienced Star Wars: Hunters, there's still time to dive in before the game is discontinued. Don't miss out on the chance to explore the game and check out our tier list of Hunters ranked by class to get the most out of your gameplay!
