Squid Game: Unleashed set to receive new characters and events to celebrate season two of the show
Squid Game: Unleashed is celebrating Season 2 with a massive content update! Get ready for new characters, a fresh map, exciting challenges, and exclusive rewards.
Netflix's surprising decision to offer the battle royale game for free to all players, even non-subscribers, continues with this update, further incentivizing engagement with the show.
Starting January 3rd, dive into a new map inspired by the Season 2 mini-game, Mingle. Playable avatars Geum-Ja, Yong-Sik, and rapper Thanos will also debut throughout January.
Geum-Ja and Thanos each have special in-game events running from January 3rd to the 9th (Geum-Ja) and January 9th to the 14th (Thanos), respectively. Completing these events unlocks the characters.
Watching Squid Game Season 2 episodes unlocks in-game Cash and Wild Tokens! Watching up to seven episodes even earns you the Binni Binge-Watcher outfit.
Here's the January update schedule for Squid Game: Unleashed:
- January 3rd: New Mingle map launches. Geum-Ja's "Dalgona Mash Up Collection Event" begins (until January 9th), challenging players to complete Mingle mini-games and collect Dalgona tins.
- January 9th: Thanos arrives with his "Thanos’ Red Light Challenge" event (until January 14th). Eliminate players using knives to unlock this character.
- January 16th: Yong-Sik joins the game as the final new character in this wave.
This strategic move by Netflix showcases their ambitious gaming strategy. Offering free access and rewarding Netflix subscribers who watch the show cleverly intertwines the game with the success of the series.
