South Park S27E4 trailer roasts Donald Trump, Lamb of God

The trailer for South Park Season 27 Episode 4 has arrived, showcasing the animated series' trademark satire – this time targeting both Donald Trump and the global Labubu plush toy phenomenon.

For those unfamiliar, Labubu are highly sought-after collectible plushies created by Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung, typically sold in mystery boxes. Their popularity exploded this summer, with viral TikTok trends emptying parental wallets worldwide.

The new trailer depicts Labubu mania spiraling out of control at South Park Elementary (reflecting the counterfeit market surrounding these toys in reality). The episode also features Donald Trump disembarking Air Force One alongside his recurring South Park counterpart, Satan.

The official episode description reads:

Butters experiences the reality of tariffs when he has to buy a Labubu doll for his girlfriend's birthday in an all-new episode on Wednesday, September 3 at 10/9c on Comedy Central and next day on Paramount+.

Season 27 has followed a bi-weekly release schedule so far, with reports suggesting this pattern will continue throughout the season. The current episodes have achieved record ratings and international attention for their unfiltered portrayal of President Trump, though production delays have resulted in only three episodes airing in the first six weeks.

Creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone maintain their signature week-to-week production approach, allowing for topical content but creating production challenges. Paramount reportedly supports this extended creative process, despite the slower output.

During their San Diego Comic-Con 2025 panel, Parker revealed the stressful nature of their spontaneous creative decisions, admitting they hadn't finalized the next episode's concept when speaking to fans.

Notably, the creators confirmed that April's Season 27 trailer contained fabricated footage not appearing in actual episodes. "Did you seriously think we pre-produced a bunch of episodes?" they joked. "We just made up content for the trailer that we're not actually using."

The series remains in the spotlight following its politically-charged Season 27 premiere that drew an official White House response. This comes amid Paramount's recent $8 billion merger approval by the FCC, while Parker and Stone continue their $1.5 billion deal to produce 50 more South Park episodes over five years.

South Park Season 27 Episode 4 premieres Wednesday, September 3 at 10/9c on Comedy Central, available the following day on Paramount+.
