Hollow Knight: Silksong remains one of the most eagerly awaited games in recent memory, with fans anxiously awaiting their chance to experience it. The lengthy wait might finally conclude as Silksong will have a playable version available at Australia's National Museum of Screen Culture (ACMI). This new demo may differ significantly from the 2019 E3 version, which many regarded as more of a "proof of concept" demonstration.

ACMI will host a video game exhibition titled Game Worlds running from September 18, 2025, through February 8, 2026. The showcase will include several prominent titles such as World of Warcraft, The Sims, and Australia's own Hollow Knight: Silksong. These games will feature exclusive custom builds while displaying original design materials, concept art, and iconic memorabilia.

In conversation with IGN, ACMI co-curators Bethan Johnson and Jini Maxwell shared their excitement about including Silksong in their exhibition: "Since its initial announcement in 2019, Hollow Knight: Silksong has stood among the most anticipated indie games worldwide – we're delighted to highlight this South Australian-developed title as a centerpiece of Game Worlds this September."

In the years following its 2019 announcement, Silksong updates have been infrequent, leaving fans searching for rumors and speculation regarding its release. ACMI aims to break this information drought by revealing fresh Silksong details during the Game Worlds exhibition.

The ACMI curators provided insight into what the exhibit will explore: "From the hundreds of sprites animating Hornet's movements and attacks to the design philosophy behind challenging boss encounters – along with making the game playable in our gallery – our Silksong displays will offer deep insight into the game's artistic vision and development process."

While the Australian exhibition might hint at Silksong's launch timeframe, no official release date has been confirmed. During last month's Switch 2 Direct, Silksong appeared briefly, reconfirming its 2025 release window. With the exhibition continuing into 2026, hopeful players can only wish for a September release or a launch within the exhibition period.
