Serial Cleaner tasks you with cleaning up crime scenes while under the influence of a moustache

Serial Cleaner, the quirky crime-scene cleanup puzzler, is making a comeback! Originally released in 2019, this title is returning, but the extent of the improvements remains to be seen. Will it be a polished re-release or simply a modernized port? Only time will tell.

The game throws you into the gritty, yet comical, 1970s. Think urban decay, stylish street gangs, and maybe even a few cinematic clichés. As Bob Leaner, your job is to discreetly erase the evidence of mob violence – disposing of bodies, cleaning up blood, and evading the ever-watchful police.

Our previous review (2019) highlighted its potential despite some shortcomings. Developer Plug-In Digital is now self-publishing, bringing Serial Cleaner back to mobile platforms.

A Retro Revival?

Pre-registration is open, with a February 11th, 2025 release date. While the specifics of the re-release are unclear, a significant overhaul would be welcome, given the mixed initial reception. However, the significant time elapsed since the original launch makes extensive improvements seem unlikely.

The core concept remains captivating, but a simple mobile re-release dampens some of the excitement. Nevertheless, Android users who missed out, or those experiencing compatibility issues on iOS, might consider this an early gift.
