Round one of the PUBG Mobile World Cup is complete, with the main event coming soon
PUBG Mobile Esports World Cup: 12 Teams Remain!
The first stage of the PUBG Mobile Esports World Cup (EWC), held as part of the Gamers8 festival in Saudi Arabia, has concluded. The initial 24 teams have been whittled down to a final 12, setting the stage for a thrilling final showdown. With a $3 million prize pool up for grabs, the competition is fierce.
For those unfamiliar with the EWC, it's an esports event showcasing some of the biggest gaming titles. PUBG Mobile's participation has been a significant success, drawing considerable attention.
Currently, Alliance leads the pack. The remaining 12 teams will enjoy a short break before the final stage, which runs from July 27th to 28th.
Global Impact
While the long-term impact on fan engagement remains to be seen, the EWC has undeniably generated significant buzz. It's worth noting, however, that despite its name, the PUBG Mobile World Cup isn't the largest event on the game's esports calendar. Other major events are scheduled for later this year, potentially overshadowing this tournament's overall impact.
For those eager for more PUBG Mobile action, a Survival Stage will be held on July 23rd and 24th. The 12 eliminated teams will battle for two coveted spots in the final stage, promising an intense and unpredictable competition.
