Rockstar Releases Bully Anniversary Update After Six Years

Rockstar, the masterminds behind the iconic GTA series, have just rolled out an Anniversary Edition update for Bully on mobile platforms. After a long six-year wait, this update is a breath of fresh air for mobile gamers, though it's not available on console or PC.

Rockstar Hasn’t Forgotten about Bullworth Academy!

Bully: Anniversary Edition's latest update brings a slew of new languages and focuses heavily on enhancing stability and squashing bugs. Rockstar has temporarily disabled Friends Challenges to ensure a smoother gameplay experience.

The update introduces Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO) for Android users on compatible devices, refreshes the app icon, and adds haptic feedback across both platforms, enriching the sensory experience.

Several mission-specific issues have been resolved, including the previously unpickable locker in ‘That Bitch’, the progression block in ‘Weed Killer’ if you broke the window prematurely, and the disappearing police cars in ‘The Rumble’. Additionally, the update addresses a peculiar issue where enemies wouldn’t engage Jimmy in combat, making fights feel unbalanced, and fixes crashes that could occur when starting a new game or loading a save from the pause menu.

What Do Players Have to Say about Bully: Anniversary Edition?

The fanbase has been clamoring for Bully 2 for years, but Rockstar's focus seems to be elsewhere. Reports suggest that a sequel was in development during the 2010s but was shelved in favor of Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA Online. With GTA 6 on the horizon, the prospects for Bully 2 seem dim, especially with many of the original developers having moved on from Rockstar. While the new update doesn't deliver a full remaster or a sequel, it's a significant upgrade for mobile players.

For those unfamiliar with Bully, it's Rockstar's unique take on a schoolyard sandbox game where you step into the shoes of Jimmy Hopkins, a rebellious 15-year-old navigating the challenges of Bullworth Academy. The game is infused with Rockstar's signature humor and open-world mischief.

So, if you're interested, head over to the Google Play Store to grab Bully: Anniversary Edition for €7.99. It's fully compatible with gamepad support, making it a great choice for mobile gaming.
