Pokémon GO's New Year's Celebration: Get Ready for Festive Fun!

Pokémon GO is celebrating the New Year with its annual holiday event, running from December 30th to January 1st, 2025! This year's festivities include themed bonuses, special Pokémon appearances, and exciting ways to ring in the new year. Following the December 21st-22nd Community Day event featuring returning Community Day Pokémon, prepare for a week of New Year's cheer!

Key highlights include a boosted 2,025 XP for each Excellent Throw, festive fireworks in the game, and plenty of New Year's decorations to enhance your experience.

Expect increased encounters with festive Pokémon! Keep an eye out for Jigglypuff with a ribbon, Hoothoot in a New Year's outfit, and Wurmple sporting a party hat – and their Shiny variants!

Raids are also getting a festive makeover. One-star raids feature a snowflake-wearing Pikachu, while three-star raids bring party-hatted Raticate and Wobbuffet. Shiny rates for all three are increased during the event.

Complete Field Research and Timed Research tasks for additional encounters and rewards. A paid Timed Research ($2) offers exclusive rewards including three Premium Battle Passes, three Lucky Eggs, 2,025 Stardust, and encounters with event Pokémon.
