Japanese YouTuber Hajimesyacho, renowned for his eclectic mix of content spanning product reviews, vlogs, and challenges, took to Twitter (X) to share his extraordinary accomplishment in Pokémon TCG Pocket. On January 19, 2025, Hajimesyacho announced that he had collected 50,000 cards, a milestone reached by purchasing the maximum amount of Poke Gold available each day since the mobile game's launch on October 30, 2024.

The daily limit for Poké Gold purchases is 720, costing around $100 per day. Over the 85 days the game has been live, Hajimesyacho has invested an estimated $8,500, excluding any special sales events during the global launch and holiday season. His dedication has enabled him to collect every available card from the Genetic Apex (A1) and Mythical Island booster packs, as well as time-exclusive promo cards.

The most recent card added to the game, a Trainer card named Pokedex, allows players to peek at the top three cards of their deck. This card was introduced to celebrate the global milestone of collecting 40 billion cards in Pokémon TCG Pocket.

These boxes come with collectible physical cards and items from the Pokémon TCG Pocket series. The collaboration features 15 unique physical cards, including popular Pokémon like Miraidon, Roaring Moon, and Rayquaza, with 7 of these cards boasting a "holo" or "foil" finish.

Players of TCG Pocket can also redeem 24 Pack Hourglasses and 12 Hourglasses, essential for opening booster packs and selecting a card via Wonder Pick. The McDonald's collaboration introduces four distinct Happy Meal box designs, featuring dragon-type Pokémon such as Charizard, Rayquaza, Roaring Moon, and Dragonite alongside Pikachu.

These exclusive items are available at participating McDonald's locations while supplies last. However, players should note that the rewards in TCG Pocket expire on March 31, 2025, so it's crucial to redeem them before this date.

This includes cards of 1-4 diamonds and 1-star rarity, while rarer cards like Special Illustration Rare, Immersive, and Crown Rares will not be tradable. An item must be consumed to facilitate the trade, similar to the Stardust requirement in Pokémon GO.

Currently, certain cards from the Genetic Apex (A1) and Mythical Island booster packs are available for trade, with the TCG Pocket team promising to expand the selection in future updates. They emphasized their commitment to balancing the ease and enjoyment of collecting, stating, "We’ll continue to monitor player feedback and assess future updates to the trade feature."

In the same announcement, a new booster pack set to launch in January was teased, although the exact release date remains undisclosed.
