Point-And-Click Mystery Game The Darkside Detective Is Now Out, Along With Its Sequel A Fumble in the Dark

Akupara Games has been prolific lately, releasing several titles recently. Following their deck-building game, Zoeti, comes The Darkside Detective, a puzzle game, and its sequel, The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark (both available now!).

What's Brewing in Twin Lakes?

The game opens on a gloomy, fog-shrouded night in Twin Lakes, a city where the strange, spooky, and utterly absurd are everyday occurrences. Meet Detective Francis McQueen and his partner, the endearingly clumsy Officer Patrick Dooley.

Together, they form the Darkside Division, a perpetually underfunded branch of the Twin Lakes Police Department. You'll assist them in solving nine quirky cases, delving into the hilarious and bizarre world of The Darkside Detective and its equally witty sequel.

These point-and-click adventures present a diverse range of challenges. Expect everything from time-travel puzzles and tentacled horrors to uncovering carnival secrets and battling mafia zombies. See the action for yourself in the trailer below!

The game is a delightful homage to pop culture, brimming with references to classic horror films, sci-fi shows, and buddy cop movies. Case titles alone are intriguing: Malice in Wonderland, Tome Alone, Disorient Express, Police Farce, Don of the Dead, Buy Hard, and Baits Motel.

The game's humor is a standout feature, woven into every pixel. The Darkside Detective is available on the Google Play Store for $6.99. A Fumble in the Dark can be played independently of the prequel, also available on Google Play.
