Among the most eagerly awaited games I discussed last year, one that stands out is the upcoming Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage. The original Pirates Outlaws was a captivating, stylish roguelike deckbuilder that hit the scene when the genre was still burgeoning. Now, its sequel is set to launch in Q3 of this year!

This "seaquel" brings you back to the world of New Elysia, embarking on another thrilling journey across the ocean. All you need to do is choose your character, select a class ability, and assemble your starting deck before setting sail!

Pirates Outlaws 2 introduces multiple characters, each with seven class options, allowing you to tailor your deck and even recruit an animal companion to enhance your strategic combat options. With refined turn-based combat mechanics and a new card evolution tree, you'll have an arsenal of tools at your fingertips to conquer the seas!

Pirates Outlaws 2 is poised to be a significantly expanded sequel, allowing you to navigate freely across the map and explore countless combinations of cards and characters. PC gamers can look forward to an upcoming Steam demo, offering the first opportunity to dive into Pirates Outlaws 2!

My only reservation is regarding the animations shown in the reveal trailer, which appear somewhat static. While fully animating these illustrations can be challenging, I'm hopeful that the final release will feature more dynamic effects when it becomes available on mobile later this year.
