Path of Exile 2 Ascendancy Classes Guide: All Ascendancies & How to Unlock

Author : Isabella Update : Mar 27,2025

For fans of *Path of Exile 2*, even in its Early Access phase, the excitement to maximize the potential of their chosen class is palpable. While the game doesn't officially feature subclasses, the Ascendancy system offers players the chance to specialize their characters with unique abilities.

How To Unlock Ascendancies in *Path of Exile 2*

To unlock the powerful Ascendancy Classes in *PoE2*, players must first conquer a special Trial of Ascendancy. In the Early Access version, you have two options: the Act 2 Trial of the Sekhemas or the Act 3 Trial of Chaos. Successfully completing either of these trials for the first time will unlock your Ascendancy Class choice and reward you with 2 passive Ascendancy Points.

The Trial of the Sekhemas, available earlier in the game, is your best bet to unlock Ascendancy sooner. This allows you to harness more powerful abilities before diving into the game's more challenging sections.

All Path of Exile 2 Class Ascendancies

During Early Access, *Path of Exile 2* offers six playable classes, each with two distinct Ascendancies. As the game evolves, it will eventually boast 12 base classes, likely introducing even more Ascendancies.
