Developed by Paradox Tinto in Barcelona, Spain—the team behind Europa Universalis 4—the new game promises to take players on an immersive journey through 500 years of history. While a release date remains under wraps, eager fans can already check out the Europa Universalis 5 Steam page.

"Master the arts of war, trade, diplomacy, and government in the largest and most detailed Europa Universalis game ever. Guide the destiny of any of hundreds of nations and societies in a simulated living world of unparalleled depth and complexity."

PlayEuropa Universalis 5 has been in development for over five years, with Paradox Tinto focusing on crafting an experience tailored for dedicated Paradox fans. The team incorporated over a year of public discussion, ensuring that the community's input shapes what they describe as "the largest and most detailed Europa Universalis game ever made."

Set to begin in 1337 at the dawn of the Hundred Years' War, players will navigate through significant historical events armed with new features. Today's reveal highlighted a new, larger map utilizing accurate map projection and encompassing hundreds of diverse societies. The game introduces a population-based system, along with enhanced production and trade systems, enabling players to establish farms, plantations, and factories, or engage in trade with neighboring regions.

Europa Universalis 5 aims to offer players the ultimate freedom to build and manage their nation. Despite being teased as a mysterious and "ambitious" project last week, fans had largely figured out what was in store beforehand.
