Nintendo's Alarmo Expanded Release Will See the Clock at Major Retail Stores
Nintendo's charming alarm clock, Alarmo, is waking up to a wider release! Coming March 2025, this unique device will be available at major retailers worldwide.
Nintendo's Latest Announcement: More Than Just a Clock
Forget the Switch 2 rumors for a moment (we know, it's hard!), Nintendo's focusing on a different kind of release: Alarmo's expanded retail availability. Starting in March 2025, you'll find Alarmo on the shelves of Target, Walmart, GameStop, and other participating retailers. Best of all? No Nintendo Online membership is required this time around! Get ready to set your alarm for $99.99 USD.
While fans celebrate this news, the anticipation for the Switch 2 remains high. Nintendo, however, remains tight-lipped about its next-gen console.
Instant Hit: Alarmo Flies Off Shelves
Alarmo's popularity was evident almost immediately. Just one day after its initial announcement on October 9th, 2024, it sold out in many locations. In Japan, Nintendo even implemented a lottery system to manage the high demand. New York City saw similar sell-outs, with retailers promising updates on restocking.
"We have received a large number of orders for the Nintendo Sound Clock Alarmo, which was released on October 9th, so we are currently suspending sales of the product on the My Nintendo Store. In response to this, we are currently preparing to change the sales method at My Nintendo Store to a lottery sale for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, so please wait for a while. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause to our customers. Furthermore, we will continue to produce the products in order to deliver them to as many customers as possible."
Sweet Dreams Are Made of This (and Nintendo Games)
Alarmo isn't your average alarm clock. Featuring charming sound effects and visuals from beloved Nintendo games like Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Splatoon 3, it's a fun and engaging way to start your day. Choose from 42 scenes at launch, with more promised via free updates (think Animal Crossing: New Horizons!).
Wake up to your favorite game characters, gentle sounds, and increasingly persuasive visitors if you snooze too long! The motion sensor allows you to silence the alarm without even touching the clock. Beyond the main alarm, Alarmo offers hourly chimes, sleep sounds, and even sleep pattern tracking.
For those sharing a bed with others or pets, the Button Mode is a helpful feature. While initially requiring a Nintendo Online subscription, this requirement will be removed with the expanded release.
