Ninja Gaiden 4 announced, Ninja Gaiden 2 remaster released

DOOM: The Dark Ages certainly stole the show at the Developer_Direct, but it wasn't the only major announcement. The highly anticipated Ninja Gaiden 4, the next installment in Koei Tecmo's acclaimed series, was officially revealed, slated for a Fall 2025 release.

The debut trailer showcased the signature action-packed slasher gameplay, starring the iconic ninja Ryu Hayabusa. Ninja Gaiden 4 introduces exciting new mechanics, including dynamic traversal using wires and rails, as seen in the gameplay footage.

The game's setting is a visually striking cyberpunk city perpetually drenched in toxic rain. Players will battle hordes of genetically modified soldiers and terrifying creatures from another realm, all while striving to lift an ancient curse plaguing the megacity.

Adding to the excitement, a massive remaster of Ninja Gaiden 2 has already launched on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, and is available via Game Pass. Team Ninja has rebuilt the game using Unreal Engine 5, resulting in completely overhauled character models, visual effects, and environments. Furthermore, the remaster incorporates elements from later entries in the series, and even adds three new playable characters.

Koei Tecmo's dedication to this project is evident, and the positive community response is well-deserved.
