"Netflix Unveils Sifu Movie: Stahelski and Nowlin Onboard"
Netflix has officially teamed up with the creators of the acclaimed video game Sifu to bring its intense narrative to the big screen. Announced back in 2022, the film adaptation was originally in development with Story Kitchen and Sloclap, the game's developer. However, recent updates from Deadline reveal that the production team has grown considerably.

Netflix has enlisted T.S. Nowlin, renowned for his contributions to the Maze Runner series and Netflix's Project Adam, to write the screenplay. While Derek Kolstad, who was initially involved in adapting Sifu's story, may still have a role, his current involvement is uncertain.
The project has also attracted high-profile talent with Chad Stahelski, the director behind the John Wick franchise, joining as an executive producer alongside his company, 87Eleven Entertainment. Interestingly, Stahelski is also involved in another major video game adaptation, Ghost of Tsushima.
Sifu, released in 2022, achieved remarkable success by selling over one million copies within just three weeks of its launch. The game centers on a young martial artist on a quest for vengeance following their master's murder. Equipped with a mystical pendant that revives them after death—albeit at the expense of aging them several years—the protagonist navigates a perilous world filled with danger and mystery.
