MultiVersus presented two last characters while fans threaten game developers

MultiVersus's story is a cautionary tale in game development, rivaling the infamous Concord debacle. Despite its impending closure, the developers have unveiled the final two characters gracing the roster: Lola Bunny and Aquaman.

This announcement follows a wave of fan frustration, some expressing their disappointment through threats directed at the development team. MultiVersus game director, Tony Huynh, responded with a heartfelt message, pleading with players to refrain from such behavior.

Huynh offered an apology to fans whose desired characters didn't make it into the game, expressing hope they'll still enjoy the final Season 5 content. He also explained the complex factors influencing character selection, emphasizing his limited control over these decisions.

The shutdown announcement sparked further anger, particularly among players who purchased the premium $100 edition, unable to utilize their in-game tokens on the promised new characters. This unfulfilled promise may have contributed to the escalating threats.
