Mortal Kombat 1 added a secret fighter with a reference to a legendary rock band

This week's Mortal Kombat 1 update brought a surprising addition alongside the announced Conan the Barbarian: a pink-clad ninja named Floyd! This isn't a joke; Floyd is a legitimate, albeit secret, fighter.

The character is clearly a reference to the iconic rock band Pink Floyd, his design echoing the band's Dark Side of the Moon album cover, with its prismatic light dispersion. Interestingly, Floyd's moveset is a blend of techniques borrowed from other ninjas in the game, incorporating Sub-Zero's freezing abilities and Scorpion's spear attacks, among others. He even boasts a quirky 1337 health points.

Long-time fans might experience a sense of déjà vu, recalling the original Mortal Kombat's secret character, Reptile. Like Floyd, Reptile was a challenging hidden fighter whose moves were a compilation of other ninjas' techniques.

Currently, unlocking Floyd remains a mystery. While he offers clues regarding the necessary challenges, the exact method remains elusive, leaving the community actively searching for a consistent trigger. Confirmation of a definitive unlock method is still pending.
