Moon Knight to Return, No Season 2: Marvel Exec

Marvel fans eager to see more of Oscar Isaac's Moon Knight in the MCU might be disappointed to learn that a second season of the Disney+ show isn't on the cards. Speaking to ComicBook, Marvel Television head Brad Winderbaum confirmed that while there are plans for the character's future, a direct follow-up season won't be part of it.

Since the release of Moon Knight in 2022, Marvel Television has shifted its strategy. Initially, the division aimed to introduce characters through standalone series before integrating them into larger projects, as seen with Kamala Khan in Ms. Marvel, who later starred in The Marvels. However, Marvel Television is now adopting a more traditional television model, focusing on annual releases.

Winderbaum elaborated on the change, saying, "So I think Marvel Television has happened in waves, and I think Moon Knight happened in a wave of shows that were going to establish characters that would tie-in to the future. And moving forward our priorities have shifted. We’re making shows as shows that can exist as annual releases, more like television. I would love to see a Moon Knight Season 2, but there are plans for Moon Knight down the road."

While Isaac lent his voice to Moon Knight in the third and final season of the Disney+ animated series Marvel’s What If…?, there's no news yet on his return to the character in live-action.

Looking ahead, Marvel's confirmed upcoming TV shows on Disney+ include Daredevil: Born Again in March, Ironheart in June, Eyes of Wakanda in August, Marvel Zombies in October, and Wonder Man in December. Meanwhile, Marvel Television recently paused production on three other shows: Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc. However, Winderbaum hinted at potential exciting developments, noting that the company is exploring the possibility of reuniting the street-level heroes from Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist, known collectively as The Defenders.
