Metro 2033's "Cursed" Mission: A Comprehensive Guide

Despite its age, Metro 2033 remains a fan favorite, especially after the release of Metro Awakening. This guide focuses on the challenging "Cursed" mission, often confusing for players due to unclear objectives and the station's layout. This mission begins after the anomaly clears the nosalis horde; Khan uses a railcar to the next station, where "Cursed" starts.

Finding the Bomb

Bomb Location

After exiting the railcar and reaching the barricaded escalators, speak to the defenders. They'll explain that a demolition team went missing while trying to collapse a tunnel, preventing further nosalis attacks. Your task: find and detonate the bomb. Expect constant nosalis attacks; retreat to the defenders for support if overwhelmed. The bomb is located at the far end of the right-hand tunnel. Avoid the ghostly shadows; they'll damage you. Once you have the bomb, either proceed to the adjacent tunnel or retreat if necessary.

Destroying the Tunnel

Tunnel Destruction

With the bomb, enter the left-hand tunnel (from the defenders' perspective). A cutscene will trigger; Artyom automatically plants and lights the fuse. Escape quickly; the blast is lethal. Alternatively, a grenade or pipe bomb in the same area will also cause the collapse. Note: nosalises can still enter through other routes, so remain vigilant.

Destroying the Airlock

Airlock Destruction

Even with the tunnel destroyed, further fortification is needed. The defenders mentioned an airlock. Find it by taking the stairs to the right of the main platform (glowing torchlight area). Ignore the nosalises. Interact with the support columns to place a pipe bomb; escape immediately after lighting the fuse.

With both entrances sealed, proceed with Khan to the shrine room, then through a floor panel to start the "Armory" mission. A video walkthrough is available (link not provided, as it wasn't included in the original text).
