Marvel's Wolverine Not Included in Recent Roadmap from Insomniac Games
Insomniac Games Remains Silent on Marvel's Wolverine Release Date
Insomniac Games recently shared its future plans, but notably withheld any updates on the highly anticipated Marvel's Wolverine. While the studio acknowledged its ambitious roadmap and new projects, Co-Head Chad Dezern emphasized a commitment to existing titles, declining to confirm or deny a 2025 release for Wolverine. The statement reflects a strategic decision to maintain secrecy surrounding the game's development.
Wolverine's Development and Shared Universe
Initially unveiled at the 2021 PlayStation Showcase, Marvel's Wolverine is confirmed for PlayStation 5. A cinematic teaser trailer generated significant excitement. Further fueling anticipation, Creative Director Bryan Intihar (Marvel's Spider-Man 2) confirmed in a 2023 interview that Wolverine shares the same universe ("1048") as Spider-Man, hinting at potential crossovers. However, to date, only a Wolverine-themed suit in Spider-Man 2 serves as an Easter egg. A ransomware attack in December 2023 briefly exposed some Wolverine development assets to the public.
Insomniac's Current Projects and Future Plans
Insomniac confirmed the January 30, 2025 PC release of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 at New York Comic-Con 2025. They dispelled rumors of future DLCs for Spider-Man 2, stating there are "no additional story content planned." The PC version will, however, include all post-launch updates, including new suits and New Game+. Both Standard and Digital Deluxe Editions will be available.
Currently, Marvel's Wolverine remains Insomniac's only publicly confirmed project in active development. For the latest news and updates, continue to monitor dedicated Marvel's Wolverine news sources.
