Leaked: Early Battlefield 6 Gameplay Footage Surfaces Online
Recent leaks have stirred excitement among fans as early gameplay footage of EA's upcoming Battlefield game surfaced online, following a closed playtest. As reported by TheGamer, a Twitch user known as anto_merguezz streamed gameplay from EA's exclusive Battlefield Labs playtest. Although the clips are no longer available on anto_merguezz's Twitch page, they were captured and shared across the internet, with Reddit being a major hub for the circulation of this content.
The leaked footage seems to validate earlier hints from Vince Zampella about a "modern" setting for the new game, setting it apart from the historical and futuristic themes seen in previous Battlefield titles. Viewers got a glimpse of intense firefights and the game's signature destructible environments. Feedback from fans has been largely positive, which bodes well for the game following the lukewarm reception of Battlefield 2042 at its launch.
Last month, EA provided the first official glimpse of what's to come with the next Battlefield installment. One of the most anticipated announcements was the return of a traditional, single-player, linear campaign, a feature that was notably absent in the multiplayer-focused Battlefield 2042, much to the chagrin of many players.
EA has set its sights on a fiscal 2026 release for the new Battlefield game, which translates to a launch window between April 2025 and March 2026. As the launch date approaches, we can expect more official reveals from EA. With leaks already circulating, it's clear that the excitement and anticipation for what might be called Battlefield 6 cannot be contained for much longer.
IGN has reached out to EA for comment on the leaked footage and further details about the game's development.
