Krysten Ritter Returns as Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

Krysten Ritter is officially set to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the upcoming Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. The announcement was made during the Disney Upfront presentation in New York, confirming months of speculation and rumors about the return of Netflix's Defenders to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Ritter joined her Daredevil and The Defenders co-star Charlie Cox on stage to share her enthusiasm for returning to the role. "It’s so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU," Ritter stated. "I’m so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!"

Ritter first brought Jessica Jones to life on Netflix in 2015 with the premiere of Jessica Jones Season 1. The series continued with two more seasons and the team-up event The Defenders. As Netflix's era of original Marvel programming came to a close, fans had lost hope of seeing Ritter play the character again—until Disney regained the rights to certain characters in 2021, including Jessica Jones. Cox's return in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his own Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again, fueled speculation about the reintroduction of other Netflix heroes. With Punisher playing a significant role in Season 1, Ritter's return for Season 2 feels like a natural progression.

Ritter last portrayed Jessica Jones in Season 3, which aired in 2019. Her comments at the upfront presentation hint at more appearances in the MCU's future, though for now, fans can look forward to seeing her in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. While a specific release date hasn't been announced, showrunner Dario Scardapane has indicated that the new season will premiere in March 2026.
