Kingambit Joins Pokémon Go in Crown Clash Event Next Month
As you wrap up the Sweet Discoveries event, get ready for the regal spectacle of the Crown Clash event in Pokémon Go, set to take place from May 10th to 18th. This event promises a royal treat with the debut of Kingambit, the Big Blade Pokémon, alongside costumed variants of Nidoqueen and Nidoking sporting majestic crowns. Not only will you have the chance to evolve and catch these crowned Pokémon, but you'll also have the opportunity to earn bonus XP just by evolving your Pokémon.
To add Kingambit to your arsenal, you’ll need to evolve Bisharp, but with a unique twist: Bisharp must be set as your buddy, and you must defeat 15 Dark- or Steel-type Pokémon in Raid Battles. Bisharp doesn’t need to battle; simply having it as your buddy while you secure victories will suffice.
Adding to the excitement, Nidoqueen and Nidoking will don crowns and make their appearance in three-star raids, with the chance of encountering their Shiny forms. One-star raids will feature Sneasel, Klink, and Pawniard, giving you more opportunities to bolster your collection.
In the wild, you’ll encounter frequent spawns of Pokémon like Slowpoke (potentially leading to a King’s Rock), Slakoth, Piplup, Combee, Snivy, and Litleo. Pawniard will also appear more often, adding to your chances of capturing this Pokémon.

With double XP for evolving Pokémon, now's the perfect time to tackle your evolution backlog. Engage in event-themed Field Research tasks and a catch-and-evolve Collection Challenge to earn extra XP, Stardust, and more chances at Pawniard. Trainers at Level 31 and above will receive guaranteed Candy XL for evolutions upon completing the challenge.
