Hideaki Nishino Elevated to Sole CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Hiroki Totoki Promoted to Sony CEO
Hideaki Nishino will become the sole CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), effective April 1, 2025. This announcement, made via press release, also reveals that Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki is promoted to President and CEO of Sony Corporation, replacing Kenichiro Yoshida. Lin Tao, SVP of finance, corporate development, and strategy, will succeed Totoki as CFO.
Last year, Nishino and Hermen Hulst assumed joint leadership of SIE following Jim Ryan's retirement. Hulst led PlayStation Studios, while Nishino oversaw hardware and technology. This new structure places Nishino at the helm of all SIE operations, including the platform business group. Hulst remains CEO of PlayStation Studios.
Nishino, a Sony employee since 2000, previously served as SVP of the platform experience group. In his statement, he expressed his honor at leading SIE, emphasizing the importance of technology and creativity in delivering engaging entertainment experiences. He highlighted plans for PlayStation community growth through IP expansion and technological innovation, thanking Hermen Hulst for his contributions and expressing gratitude to the PlayStation community.
