Newly surfaced 2005 James Bond audition tapes showcase Henry Cavill's compelling portrayal of 007, predating Daniel Craig's casting.

Games Radar highlights the release of these tapes on Ron South's YouTube channel, a platform maintained by an enthusiastic filmmaker. The collection includes auditions from Cavill, Sam Worthington, Rupert Friend, and Anthony Starr.

Cavill's audition has garnered significant attention, with many, including Casino Royale director Martin Campbell, praising his performance. Campbell reportedly favored Cavill, but ultimately, other executives chose Craig.

Cavill later fulfilled his spy aspirations in the film Argylle, starring alongside Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, and Catherine O’Hara. Despite the impressive cast, the film received mixed reviews, scoring a mere 4/10 on IGN.

Cavill's career continues to flourish, encompassing iconic roles such as Superman for DC, Geralt of Rivia in Netflix's The Witcher, and numerous other diverse projects.
