The 'I Caught a Shooting Star!' hidden trophy/achievement stands out for its simplicity yet elusive nature. If you're not aware of it from the start, you might miss it entirely. To unlock it, you must capture a unique endemic life form in the **Windward Plains** known as the **Sandstar**. This creature, resembling a small desert mouse with a long tail and shimmering fur, can only be found at night in a specific part of the region.
Since the Windward Plains are often explored during the day in the story, you'll need to wait until nightfall. You can do this in two ways:
- **Fast Travel** – Available early in the game once you unlock different fast travel points in the Windward Plains. Use the interactive map to fast travel between points, which will advance time until it's night.
- **Rest** – This option becomes available after completing Chapter 3 and unlocking high-rank content. Use your Guild Points to rest at a base or pop-up camp, and select 'Nighttime' to change the time of day.

The Sandstar is not only small but also incredibly fast, even when you're sprinting on your Seikret. To increase your chances of capturing it, gather **Screamer Pods** before the chase. You can obtain these from **Baunos**, small winged monsters with red bodies found in the Windward Plains, particularly in **Area 11** and **Area 13**. Baunos are scavengers, so you can take them down to collect Screamer Pods.
Once it's night in the Windward Plains, head to the midpoint between Area 11 and Area 13 and keep an eye out for the Sandstar. When you spot it, chase it at full speed and prepare your Screamer Pods. When you're close enough, **shoot a Screamer Pod to stun the Sandstar**. Immediately switch to your **Capture Net** (used for fishing as well) and throw it at the Sandstar to capture it. This will unlock the 'I Caught a Shooting Star!' trophy/achievement, and you'll also receive the **Ribbon Dream: Amber** nameplate for your Hunter Profile.
That's how you can unlock the 'I Caught a Shooting Star' trophy/achievement in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. Be sure to explore our other guides for more tips and tricks on the game, including how to skip cutscenes.
