GTA Lead Designer Unveils Techno Spy Thriller: MindsEye
Leslie Benzies, the renowned former lead game designer behind blockbuster titles like Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption, is gearing up to unveil his latest project, MindsEye. This eagerly awaited game received a fresh showcase during the recent PlayStation State of Play event.
The newly released trailer for MindsEye offers a glimpse into this thrilling high-tech spy adventure, which bears some striking resemblances to Grand Theft Auto. Fans can expect third-person shooting, stunning cinematic sequences, and dynamic drive-and-shoot gameplay. You can dive into the cinematic trailer below.
According to the official press release, MindsEye centers around protagonist Jacob Diaz, who is equipped with a neural implant known as the MindsEye. This device, however, has fragmented his memories, leaving him with disjointed flashbacks from his military past. Driven by a quest to uncover the truth about his history, Diaz embarks on a mission that pits him against an AI-powered military force determined to thwart his efforts.
MindsEye has been in development for several years since Benzies departed from Rockstar Games. He founded his new studio, Build a Rocket Boy, and collaborated with Hitman developer IO Interactive on this project. Touted as a AAA action-adventure game, MindsEye is set to debut alongside the Everywhere platform, which we've previously likened to a "big-budget Roblox" following a visit to their studio in 2024.
Although the new trailer did not delve into the Everywhere platform, MindsEye itself promises to deliver an exhilarating action-packed experience from a leading figure in the gaming industry. The game is slated for release in the summer of 2025.
