Gran Turismo and Forza's main competitor Assetto Corsa EVO is released today
Get ready, racing fans! Assetto Corsa EVO, from Kunos Simulazioni Studios, hits Steam Early Access on January 16, 2025.
Initially, the game boasts 20 meticulously detailed cars and 5 iconic tracks: Imola, Brands Hatch, Bathurst, Laguna Seca, and Suzuka. Even in Early Access, expect stunning physics, precise handling, and incredibly realistic car behavior.
A standout feature is the free-roam mode, allowing for unrestricted exploration. A significant summer 2025 update promises a massive addition: a fully laser-scanned open world encompassing the legendary Nürburgring and its surrounding roads, initially spanning 1600 square kilometers with planned expansions.
Assetto Corsa EVO aims to rival industry titans like Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport, promising photorealistic visuals and cutting-edge physics.
The full release will eventually feature 100 vehicles and 15 tracks, with continuous free content updates. Expect highly accurate track recreations, including dynamic tire wear, wet surfaces, and animated spectators for an immersive experience.
Enhanced car dynamics, suspension, and shock absorption systems are key improvements. Early Access will include Driving Academy mode, challenging players to complete tracks within time limits to earn a license unlocking premium vehicles. This will be a key single-player component of the Early Access release.
