Eerie Worlds: A Monster-Filled Tactical CCG from Avid Games

Rifts are rarely good news in games, but Avid Games has embraced the chaos in its highly anticipated title, Eerie Worlds, the follow-up to the charming Cards, the Universe and Everything. This time, the focus is on monsters emerging from these rifts, offering a unique blend of fun and learning.

Avid Games has assembled a visually stunning roster of monsters, each inspired by real-world mythological and folkloric horrors.

The game boasts an impressive range of creatures, encompassing Japanese Yokai (like Jikininki and Kuchisake), Slavic monsters (such as Vodyanoy and Psoglav), and many more from global folklore. Each card includes detailed, researched descriptions, enhancing the gameplay experience.

Eerie Worlds features four Alliances (Grimbald, Zerrofel, Rivin, and Synnig) and multiple Hordes, adding significant tactical depth. Monsters share certain properties but not others, creating strategic complexity.

Players build their monster collection, known as a Grimoire, by merging duplicate cards. Starting with 160 basic cards, players can unlock many more through merging, with additional cards planned for release soon.

Avid Games has announced the addition of two more Hordes in the coming months, ensuring lasting replayability.

Gameplay involves a nine-card deck (eight monsters and one world card), played over nine 30-second turns. Players must strategically manage mana, exploit synergies, and make high-stakes decisions.
