Sony and game developer Santa Monica Studio have announced the Dark Odyssey collection, an exciting new update for God of War Ragnarök set to launch next week. This update brings a range of in-game equipment inspired by one of the franchise's most iconic outfits, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the God of War series.

In a detailed post on the PlayStation.Blog, Sony unveiled the contents of the Dark Odyssey collection, which will be available as a free update on March 20 for all God of War Ragnarök players on both PlayStation 5 and PC. The collection showcases a sleek black-and-gold aesthetic, designed to enhance the visual appeal of Kratos and his companions as they navigate the realms of Norse mythology.

The update includes cosmetic sets for Atreus and Freya, along with various appearances for the player's shields and weapons. However, the highlight is undoubtedly the Dark Odyssey appearance and armor set for Kratos, which pays homage to a legendary skin from God of War 2 that was originally exclusive to those who conquered the game on God Mode difficulty. Players can access this content through any Lost Items chest in the base game or immediately in the roguelike Valhalla mode post-update. Additionally, the update will introduce the long-awaited feature to customize Kratos' weapons' appearances without affecting their abilities.
