Feral Interactive Releases Imperium Update for ROME: Total War

ROME: Total War players on Android rejoice! Feral Interactive has just released a massive free update known as the Imperium Update, introducing a host of gameplay enhancements, control refinements, and user-friendly features. This highly anticipated update, initially launched for the original game in 2018, is now available and brings with it several exciting improvements.

If you're among the fans of this iconic strategy game, you'll find plenty to love in the latest release. The same update will roll out next week for the standalone expansions Barbarian Invasion and Alexander, so stay tuned for even more content.

Key Features of the Imperium Update

The Imperium Update draws inspiration from Feral’s recent mobile releases, such as Total War: MEDIEVAL II and EMPIRE, offering players refined mechanics and enhanced functionality. Among the standout additions are three new control options: Positioning Mode, Melee Mode, and Automatic Deselection.

Positioning Mode empowers you to fine-tune unit placements effortlessly by tapping and holding, while the Group Grid feature simplifies unit management through a collapsible selection menu. Melee Mode allows ranged units to seamlessly transition to close combat when necessary.

Another significant change is Command Slowdown, which automatically slows the game during complex order execution, making strategic planning more intuitive. For the first time ever, keyboard and mouse support is now available for Android (and iPad), providing a more immersive experience.

The minimap has undergone a redesign, borrowing elements from MEDIEVAL II, with smoother zooming and navigation. A new reset button enables users to quickly revert to the default view.

This update is already live, so if you own ROME: Total War on Android, you can download it now via the Google Play Store. Keep an eye out for Barbarian Invasion and Alexander, which will receive their updates next week.
