Epic RPG Reborn on Nintendo Switch

Triangle Strategy Returns to Nintendo Switch eShop

Good news for RPG fans! Triangle Strategy, the acclaimed tactical RPG from Square Enix, is back on the Nintendo Switch eShop after a brief, unexplained removal. The game's return follows a multi-day absence from the digital storefront.

This popular title, lauded for its return to classic tactical RPG mechanics reminiscent of Fire Emblem, was previously delisted. Speculation points to Square Enix's recent acquisition of publishing rights from Nintendo as the likely cause of the temporary delisting. The company offered no official explanation for the removal.

The swift return of Triangle Strategy contrasts with the several-week absence of Octopath Traveler from the eShop last year. This incident, also involving a Square Enix title, highlights the occasional, albeit brief, disruptions in digital game availability.

This reappearance reinforces the strong relationship between Square Enix and Nintendo. This partnership has yielded several Nintendo Switch exclusives, including the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series (initially) and the definitive version of Dragon Quest 11. This ongoing collaboration underscores Square Enix’s history of releasing titles on Nintendo consoles, dating back to the original Final Fantasy on the NES. While their releases now span multiple platforms, exclusivity remains a significant part of their strategy, as evidenced by the PlayStation 5 exclusivity of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

In short, Triangle Strategy is once again available for purchase and download on the Nintendo Switch eShop.
