RGG Studio President Masayoshi Yokoyama confirmed that Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii's story and world will be approximately 1.3 to 1.5 times the size of Like a Dragon Gaiden. This isn't a simple expansion; it's a massive leap in scale. Yokoyama hinted at the game's vastness, mentioning Honolulu City (seen in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth) and other diverse locations, exceeding the scope of Like a Dragon Gaiden significantly.

The game's content is equally expansive. Expect the series' signature brawling combat, alongside a wealth of quirky side activities and mini-games. Yokoyama indicated that the traditional "Gaiden" label as a mere spin-off is evolving, suggesting this title will stand as a fully-fledged, mainline-level experience.
