A Pirate Adventure of Epic Proportions

RGG Studio President Masayoshi Yokoyama confirmed that Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii's story and world will be approximately 1.3 to 1.5 times the size of Like a Dragon Gaiden. This isn't a simple expansion; it's a massive leap in scale. Yokoyama hinted at the game's vastness, mentioning Honolulu City (seen in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth) and other diverse locations, exceeding the scope of Like a Dragon Gaiden significantly.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii - Expanded GameplayThe game's content is equally expansive. Expect the series' signature brawling combat, alongside a wealth of quirky side activities and mini-games. Yokoyama indicated that the traditional "Gaiden" label as a mere spin-off is evolving, suggesting this title will stand as a fully-fledged, mainline-level experience.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii - A Hawaiian SettingThe Hawaiian setting provides a unique backdrop for Goro Majima's unexpected piratical journey. Voiced again by Hidenari Ugaki, Majima's transformation remains shrouded in mystery, leaving fans eager for answers. Ugaki himself expressed excitement but remained tight-lipped about the plot details.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii - Live-Action ElementsAdding to the intrigue, voice actor Ryuji Akiyama (Masaru Fujita) hinted at a live-action scene, teasing an amusing anecdote involving an aquarium and "many beautiful women" during recording. These "beautiful women" may be the "Minato Ward girls," cast earlier this year, who will appear in both live-action and CG form.

The inclusion of live-action elements and the sheer scale of the game point towards a truly unique and unforgettable Like a Dragon experience. Get ready to set sail for adventure in 2025!
