Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero Might Launch on Nintendo Switch 2, Hints Saudi Ratings Board

Author : Allison Update : May 02,2025

The much-anticipated fighting game, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, has been unexpectedly rated for the Nintendo Switch 2, stirring excitement among fans even before any official announcement. This development hints at the game's arrival on the new console, although no confirmation has been made by the developers.

A now-deleted tweet from the Saudi General Authority of Media Regulation, initially spotted by the Gaming Leaks and Rumours subreddit, provided the first clue. The tweet, which was removed shortly after, stated, "Experience the fighting action in the latest game Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. Available on Nintendo Switch 2, featuring 3D battles and storylines that change based on your choices," and confirmed that the game had secured a 12+ rating.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero builds upon the legendary gameplay of the Budokai Tenkaichi series, elevating it with an "incredible number" of playable characters, each boasting signature abilities, transformations, and techniques. In our IGN Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero review, we awarded it a 7/10, describing it as "a final flash from the past, sometimes to a fault, but the feeling of traveling back to a simpler time when games didn’t have to be balanced or competitive to be fun is still a good one."

In related news, pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 opened on April 24, with the console priced at $449.99. The response was overwhelming, as noted in our coverage and they went about as well as you'd expect. On the same day, Nintendo issued a warning to U.S. customers who pre-ordered through the My Nintendo Store, stating that release date delivery was not guaranteed due to high demand.
