In the last decade, the dream of cross-platform play has become a reality, significantly uniting the *Call of Duty* community. Yet, crossplay in *Black Ops 6* comes with its own set of challenges. Here's how to disable it and what to consider before you do.

Should You Disable Crossplay in Black Ops 6? Answered

The decision to disable crossplay in *Black Ops 6* is nuanced. Many players seek to disable it to ensure a more level playing field, especially console users on Xbox and PlayStation who wish to avoid competing against PC players.

If you're on a console, you might want to turn off crossplay due to the inherent advantages PC players have with their mouse and keyboard setup. Aiming with a mouse offers greater precision than using a controller, and PC users might also have easier access to mods and cheats. Despite *Call of Duty*'s Ricochet Anti-Cheat system, both *Black Ops 6* and *Warzone* players have reported encountering hackers and cheaters. Disabling crossplay could theoretically reduce your chances of facing these unfair opponents.

However, there's a significant drawback to consider: disabling crossplay limits the player pool available for matchmaking. This can lead to longer wait times for matches and potentially poorer connection quality between players. Our experience shows that with crossplay off, finding games can take longer and the lobbies may suffer from less optimal connections.
