Delta Force pre-orders now open for Android and iOS
Delta Force, previously known as Delta Force: Hawk Ops, is now accepting pre-registrations for its mobile launch on iOS and Android. Launching in late January 2025, this Tencent-developed title marks a significant entry into the modern military shooter market.
The game blends various missions and modes, emphasizing tactical gameplay. For those unfamiliar with the franchise, Delta Force is a long-standing name in FPS gaming, predating even Call of Duty. Known for its realistic action, advanced gadgets, and authentic weaponry, this reboot promises a faithful continuation of the series' legacy.
Tencent's Level Infinite has crafted a compelling revival, featuring a "Warfare" mode offering large-scale battles reminiscent of Battlefield, and an "Operations" mode focusing on extraction-style gameplay. A single-player campaign inspired by the Battle of Mogadishu (and the film Black Hawk Down) is also planned for release in 2025.
Addressing Cheating Concerns
Despite high anticipation, Delta Force has faced controversy regarding its approach to combating cheaters. Tencent's aggressive anti-cheat measures, while intending to eliminate cheating, have drawn criticism for being overly restrictive. These concerns, primarily related to the PC version, raise questions about their potential impact on the mobile release.
While mobile platforms generally present fewer opportunities for cheating, the initial negative reaction to Tencent's anti-cheat strategy might still affect player interest. However, the potential for a smoother, cheat-free mobile experience could yet see Delta Force meet expectations.
