"Days Gone Remastered: New Feature to Adjust Game Speed"
With the release of Days Gone Remastered drawing near, Sony's Bend Studio has shed light on the exciting accessibility features set to enhance the gaming experience. One of the standout options is the ability to adjust Game Speed, allowing players to slow down the action when facing high-pressure scenarios. In a detailed post on the PlayStation Blog, Kevin McAllister, Bend Studio's Creative & Product Lead, explained how players can now tailor the game's speed to 75%, 50%, or even 25% of the original pace. This feature aims to assist players who may find themselves overwhelmed during intense moments, such as fighting off hordes of Freakers. McAllister emphasized, "Game Speed is ideal for players who might feel overwhelmed in certain situations or have difficulty with various inputs in high-pressure moments, specifically fighting off hordes of Freakers. Hordes are a pillar in Days Gone gameplay and with our new Horde Assault mode arriving in the remaster, we wanted to make this unique combat experience more accessible to our players."
Beyond Game Speed, Days Gone Remastered introduces a suite of additional accessibility options designed to cater to a broader range of players. These include customizable subtitle colors, a High Contrast Mode, UI Narration, and Collectible Audio Cues. Furthermore, the auto-complete QTE feature, previously exclusive to Easy difficulty, will now be available across all difficulty levels from Easy to Survival II, making the game more inclusive.
Bend Studio has also confirmed that most of these new accessibility features will be rolled out to the PC version of Days Gone. However, some features such as feedback and control customization will necessitate the use of a compatible controller.
Announced back in February, Days Gone Remastered not only brings these accessibility enhancements but also introduces additional content like an enhanced photo mode, permadeath, and speedrun options. This remastered version of the 2019 post-apocalyptic zombie action-adventure game, centered around a biker's journey, is set to launch on April 25, 2025. Owners of the PS4 version of Days Gone can upgrade to the PS5 remastered edition for just $10, ensuring that fans can enjoy the updated experience without breaking the bank.
