Code Geass: Lost Stories Ending Its Global Journey On Mobile Soon!

The curtain is falling on the global version of Code Geass: Lost Stories, the strategic tower defense game inspired by the beloved anime and manga series, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion. While the international community bids farewell, fans in Japan can continue their journey as the Japanese version remains active.

Developed by f4samurai and DMM Games and published by Komoe, with the original manga created by Sunrise, Code Geass: Lost Stories made its global debut in September 2023. Unfortunately, it won't celebrate its first anniversary, signaling a premature end to its global run.

When Is It Shutting Down?

Code Geass: Lost Stories will officially close its doors on August 29th, 2024. Players have until this date to immerse themselves in the game one last time, as access to accounts will be terminated thereafter. Additionally, the game's global social media presence will cease on the same day.

As of today, new downloads and in-game purchases are no longer available. Despite its global shutdown, the game continues to thrive in Japan, where it enjoys a dedicated player base.

Why Is Code Geass: Lost Stories Shutting Down?

Blending elements of RPG, action, and tower defense, Code Geass: Lost Stories leverages the popularity of its source material. However, the decision to shut down the global version comes as no shock. Although the developers have not disclosed specific reasons, low download numbers and less-than-stellar reviews likely played a role.

Licensed anime gacha games often face challenges in retaining a robust player base outside Japan, where spending habits differ. The early closure of Code Geass: Lost Stories aligns with this trend.

For those in Japan eager to experience the game, it's available on the Google Play Store.
