CoD: Warzone Players Encounter Persistent Lobby Crashes
Call of Duty: Warzone players are experiencing game freezes and crashes during loading screens, sometimes resulting in unfair penalties. While a permanent fix is still in development, developers have implemented a temporary solution.
Warzone's recent issues, including this loading screen glitch, follow a year of challenges for developer Raven Software. Previous incidents include temporary server outages and ongoing reports of cheating and bugs. The latest problem, reported on January 6th, prompted an investigation.
Although the underlying bug remains unfixed (as of January 9th, according to their Trello board), Raven Software has temporarily suspended skill rating penalties and timeouts for players disconnecting before Ranked matches begin. This addresses player concerns about unjust punishments due to the unavoidable glitch. Penalties will still apply for players who leave matches mid-game.
This temporary fix offers some relief, but the persistent bugs, even after a major update in early January 2025, remain a source of frustration for players. The ongoing need for bug fixes highlights the considerable challenges facing the Warzone development team. Players eagerly await a permanent solution to these disruptive issues.
