Captain America: Brave New World surpasses expectations, raking in an estimated $100 million domestically during its Presidents Day weekend debut.

Comscore, a box office tracking service, reports the latest Marvel Studios film grossed approximately $88.5 million across 4,105 theaters over the three-day weekend, projecting a four-day total of $100 million. Adding its impressive $92.4 million international earnings, Captain America: Brave New World boasts an estimated $192.4 million global weekend box office.

Deadline reports the film's production budget at $180 million, with a global box office break-even point estimated around $425 million.

This strong opening places Captain America: Brave New World as the fourth-best Presidents Day debut, trailing only three other superhero films: Black Panther ($242 million), Deadpool ($152 million), and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania ($120 million).

Despite mixed critical reception—IGN awarded it a 5/10, criticizing its lack of innovation and underwhelming plot despite strong performances from the cast—the film's success is significant. Its performance will be closely monitored to determine if it can reverse the recent downturn in Marvel Cinematic Universe box office results (excluding last year's highly successful Deadpool & Wolverine). The film's success will be crucial in building momentum for upcoming releases, including Thunderbolts in May and The Fantastic Four: First Steps in July.
