Capcom to Crack Down on Monster Hunter Wilds Cheaters Before Update 1

Author : Anthony Update : May 07,2025

Excitement is building as Monster Hunter Wilds prepares to launch its first Title Update tomorrow, introducing quests that encourage players to compete for the fastest clear times. In anticipation of this competitive environment, Capcom has issued a clear and firm statement regarding the integrity of gameplay. On their official Monster Hunter account on X/Twitter, Capcom warned, "To ensure a fun and fair experience for our players, we will take action against accounts participating in fraudulent ranking activity, such as the use of cheating or external tools. Accounts deemed to be in breach of this may be suspended, or have restrictions placed on them, such as being unable to receive rewards from these quests."

Capcom's commitment to fairness extends beyond individual cheaters. They have also cautioned that participating in multiplayer hunts with cheaters could lead to an invalid quest completion time, resulting in the revocation of rewards for all party members. "Please take caution to avoid playing multiplayer with those who are engaging in prohibited activity, or those you suspect of such," Capcom advised, urging players to report any fraudulent activity they encounter during quests.

The new quests will offer enticing rewards in the form of cosmetic pendants. Some will be available to all participants, while others will be awarded based on Completion Time or the hunter's ranking. This makes Capcom's stringent measures against cheating understandable, as they aim to maintain the integrity of rewards and competition.

The Time-Based Competition Quests will be accessible through the new Arena Quest Counter in the Grand Hub at Suja, starting with Title Update 1. To access this feature, players must complete a special tutorial mission to unlock the Grand Hub. Make sure to prioritize this once the update goes live tomorrow in Monster Hunter Wilds.
