CoD: Black Ops 7 Playtest Leaked in App Blunder

Confidential Black Ops 7 Playtest Details Accidentally Revealed
Call of Duty fans got an unexpected sneak peek at Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 after internal developer playtest details were mistakenly broadcast to everyone through the official Call of Duty app. The leak included never-before-seen multiplayer modes, featuring a massive 20v20 wingsuit battle option. Talk about an oops moment.
"This weekend was supposed to be an exclusive developers-only playtest for Black Ops 7," CharlieIntel reported on X. "Instead of keeping it private, [Activision/Treyarch/Raven] accidentally sent the announcement to all Xbox users through the Call of Duty app."
The leak also exposed two unannounced multiplayer modes - Skirmish and Overload - complete with detailed descriptions that weren't meant for public eyes yet.
Leaked Multiplayer Mode Details
Skirmish throws 40 players (20v20) into massive battles where teams fight over key objectives. The mode description reveals: "Deploy your wingsuit to outmaneuver enemies while capturing strategic points, destroying payloads, and transmitting intel. First team to hit the score limit takes the win."
Overload offers a more tactical 6v6 experience focused on controlling and delivering a powerful EMP device to the enemy base. Multiple successful deliveries are needed to secure victory.
An internal, developer only Black Ops 7 play test was set to begin this weekend. They accidentally pushed the message of the day to everyone on Xbox on the Call of Duty app, instead.

Black Ops 7 Development Insights
Developed by Treyarch and Raven Software, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 marks the first time the franchise has released consecutive Black Ops titles back-to-back. As Matt Cox, Call of Duty's General Manager, explained: "We're creating a connected experience that stays true to what makes Black Ops special."
The upcoming installment will feature Hollywood stars Milo Ventimiglia and Kiernan Shipka alongside Michael Rooker's return as Mike Harper. Ventimiglia plays David Mason while Shipka debuts as new character Emma Kagen.
This leak comes after Activision recently had to pull controversial in-game ads from Black Ops 6, calling them an accidental "feature test." With Black Ops 7 expected to launch at $80 - potentially becoming the first $80 AAA title - fans are watching Activision's moves closely.
Oh, and in case you missed it - Beavis and Butt-Head somehow made it into Black Ops 6. Because why not?
