He attributed the decision to move up the launch date to the exceptional progress in development, stating, "everything’s going kinda the best scenario."

Originally slated for a September 23 release as announced in PlayStation's February State of Play, the new date was officially confirmed by Borderlands 4's Twitter (X) account. The post celebrated the decision, emphasizing the extensive meetings, playtesting, and incredible development work that led to this exciting change. "After careful consideration–along with A LOT of meetings, playtestings, and incredible development work–we have made the monumental decision to MOVE UP THE LAUNCH DATE OF BORDERLANDS 4 to SEPTEMBER 12," the post proudly declared.
