The Blood of Dawnwalker's recent game reveal event shed light on this exciting open-world dark fantasy action-RPG. Dive in to discover more!
Welcome to Vale Sangora
Meet Coen, the Dawnwalker Protagonist
Revealed on January 16th, The Blood of Dawnwalker offers a narrative-driven experience set in the fictional 14th-century Medieval European land of Vale Sangora. Players embody Coen, a Dawnwalker—a unique protagonist described by Narrative Director Jakub Szamalek as "a young guy who at heart is emotional, he can get vulnerable, he’s honest about how he feels." The trailer showcases Coen's conflict with Brencis, an ancient vampire who has subjugated Vale Sangora. Coen's mission: save his family within 30 days and nights. While the game features a time constraint, developers emphasize a flexible gameplay pace allowing for extensive exploration. Coen's vampiric abilities, including superhuman agility and magic manipulation, are hinted at in the trailer, leaving many questions for fans.
Rebel Wolves addressed fan queries via their official Discord server's FAQ channel. Dawnwalkers, revealed to be more than simply half-human, half-vampire, possess unique characteristics. The game's magic system, while present, will be grounded and less overtly flashy than in typical fantasy settings, focusing on occult practices, rituals, amulets, and summonings.
A Narrative Sandbox: Freedom and Choice
Coen, cursed with silver poisoning, strives to save his family. However, The Blood of Dawnwalker prioritizes player agency, offering a "narrative sandbox" experience. The game emphasizes player choice, providing a nonlinear storyline with multiple paths to achieve the main objective. This single-player experience will feature romanceable characters from various races, including uriashi, kobolds, and potentially even werewolves, ensuring Coen's journey is not a lonely one.
Developed by Rebel Wolves—a studio comprised of former CD Projekt Red developers who worked on The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077—The Blood of Dawnwalker has no confirmed release date but is slated for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
